What this checks, and what it can't
It fetches your homepage once, exactly like a visitor, and measures what's visible from outside: server speed, page weight, mobile setup, HTTPS, security headers, page titles, headings, structured data, image alt text, tap-to-call, and whether your copyright year makes you look closed. That's about half the picture.
It can't see the half that usually matters more
- Your Google Business Profile — the single biggest local ranking factor, and the thing most businesses have never finished
- Where you actually rank on the map for your services
- Your reviews — how many, how recent, whether you reply
- Whether your contact form delivers — the silent killer; we test it by hand
- Whether AI assistants know you exist — we ask them
- Whether your copy makes anyone want to call you — no robot can judge that

How it actually works — no mystery
No third-party service, no AI, no database of pre-canned answers. Our server requests your homepage exactly once, the way any visitor's browser would, then reads the HTML that comes back and measures what's in it. That's it. If you scan twice you'll get the same answer, because it's measuring your site, not guessing.
1. The speed number is your server's response time — not how long your page takes to fully draw in a browser. That needs a real browser. Run your URL through Google PageSpeed Insights (free) and read the mobile score for the complete picture. We do that in the full check.
2. Some sites can't be scanned honestly, so we don't try. If you're behind Cloudflare-style bot protection, it serves us a security check instead of your page. If your site builds itself with JavaScript after loading, a raw fetch sees an empty shell. In both cases we'd be grading the wrong thing — so the tool tells you it can't score it rather than inventing a number. A tool that confidently tells you something false is worse than no tool.
